Content status and provenance

The Great Library distinguishes reference publication from legal authority. A page's presence in the Library does not by itself enact law, authenticate an official instrument, apply the Great Seal, or create an Official Legal Registry entry.

Status vocabulary

Current canon — presently controlling non-legal canonical reference material.
Current law — law whose legal authority is established through the controlling legal and archival systems.
Official record — an official record reproduced or referenced by the Library.
Historical law — a legal instrument preserved for historical research but not represented as current law.
Historical material — historical source or reference material.
Approved source — approved source material that is not thereby converted into enacted law.
Reconstructed material — content reconstructed from surviving sources and identified as such.
Reconstruction pending — incomplete material awaiting sufficient source reconciliation.
Superseded — material retained for history after replacement or supersession.
Informational reference — explanatory/reference material that does not independently establish legal or operational authority.
Draft/unapproved — material not approved as current canon or law.

Authority boundary

Official legal instruments continue through the Imperial Archives and Publication Desk controls. Ordinary editorial approval is separate from legal execution, authentication, registration, codification, and archival publication.
