IMPERIAL SERVICE GRAND MARSHAL DIRECTIVE Number 7.1-001

The Imperial Service Directive Numbering System.

1. PURPOSE. This directive restates the Imperial Service Numbering System, pursuant to the authority vested in the Grand Marshal  

2. APPLICABILITY. This directive applies to the Office of the Grand Marshal (OGM), the Imperial Service Components and Major Commands, and all other organizational entities within the control of the Imperial Service and the Grand Marshal (referred to collectively in this directive as the “IS Components”).

3. BASIC NUMBERING SYSTEM. The Chief, Directives Division (DD) assigns numbers to IS issuances based on the established subject groups and subgroups provided in System Table and the recommendations of OGM and IS Component heads with equity in a particular issuance.  IS Directives (ISDs) and IS Instructions (ISIns). The basic number is in Arabic numerals and consists of a number representing the Imperium (as in 7th Imperium), followed by a decimal point depicting the major area, and a 2-digit sequential number of the subgroup, and . For example: (1) ISI 7.1-001  is in the major subject group “1 – Personnel and Administration, “ -001” indicates that this is the first issuance assigned to this subgroup. This numbering will apply to Imperial or Supreme Commander (SCD) and Grand Marshal Directives (GMD) as well.  

4. NUMBERING NEW ISSUANCES.  ISDs and ISIs. The OGM Components initiating new directives and instructions propose a group number from the Group Table. Initiating Components should coordinate the proposed group with other Components with equity in the issuance. When submitting the issuance to DD for pre-coordination review, the message requesting review should justify the final group recommendation and include any comments made by other Components.

5. NUMBERING REISSUANCES. Reissuances retain the same number as the original issuance. Numbers will not be reused for any other purpose.

7. RELEASABILITY. Unlimited. This directive is approved for public release and is available in the forums and the archives.

8. EFFECTIVE DATE. This directive  is effective April 24, 2022.
