IMPERIAL SERVICE GRAND MARSHAL DIRECTIVE Number 7.3-004a

The Imperial Service Training, Education, and Doctrine Command Structure (amended)

1. Purpose.

This directive amends the establishment and organizational structure of the Imperial Service Training, Recruiting, Education, and Doctrine Command (IS TREDCOM or TREDCOM). It redefines responsibilities, the command structure, and authorities pursuant to the authority vested in the Supreme Commander.

2. Applicability.

This directive applies to the Office of the Supreme Commander (OSC), all Imperial Service Components and Major Commands, and other organizational entities under the control of the Imperial Service and the Supreme Commander (hereafter referred to as the "IS Components" or "IS").

3. Mission

TREDCOM's mission is to recruit, train, educate, and develop the Imperial Service. It establishes standards, drives improvement, and leads change, ensuring the Imperial Service can defend, secure the Imperium, and succeed in present and future battlefields.

4. Organization and Management.

a. TREDCOM, an Imperial Service Major Command, is led by the Grand Commander of the IS TREDCOM (GCDRTREDCOM) who reports to the Supreme Commander. The structure consists of:

  • A command group: Grand Commander, Vice Grand Commander/Chief of Staff, three Assistant Grand Commanders overseeing core functions — Training and Doctrine; Recruiting and Accessions; and Education — and the Senior Enlisted Advisor known as the Command Chief Warrant Officer of TREDCOM.
  • Three subordinate commands: Training and Doctrine Command, Education Command, and Recruiting and Accessions Command. Each houses their respective subordinate commands, schools, training centers, technical schools, and other entities established by the GCDRTREDCOM based on resources assigned by the Supreme Commander or Vice Supreme Commander.

b. HQ TREDCOM staff includes, at a minimum, the Vice Grand Commander (VGC)/Chief of Staff (COS), a Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS), personal staff, special staff, coordinating staff, and field operating agencies (FOAs) supporting this staff.

c. Major Commands under TREDCOM include:

  • Training and Doctrine Command:
    • Basic Military Training Command (BMTC)
    • Imperial Training Center Command (ITCC)
    • Doctrine Command (DOCOM)
  • Education Command/Imperial Service University:
    • Imperial Service Academy,
    • Specialized Training Institute
    • Imperial Service Command and Staff College
    • Imperial Service Post Graduate School
    • Imperial Senior Service College)
  • Recruiting and Accessions Command:
    • Recruiting Command
    • Entrance and Processing Command

e. The GCDRTREDCOM has the authority to:

  • Establish policies, procedures, and guidelines governing TREDCOM operations.
  • Allocate resources and personnel.
  • Approve training, education, and doctrine programs.
  • Review subordinate programs for compliance.
  • Offer guidance to Imperial Service commanders regarding training, education, and doctrine.

f. IS TREDCOM will oversee the following IS Career fields and appoint the proponency chief for Corps.

  • Aviation Corps (Starfighter, Transport Operator, Orbital Figher)
  • Maneuver (Infantry, Artillery, Battlemech, and Armor) Corps
  • Intelligence Corps
  • Law and Order Corps
  • Engineering Corps
  • Communications Corps
  • Logistics Corps
  • Diplomatic Affairs Corps
  • Medical Corps
  • Guard Corps
  • Science Corps
  • Medical Corps
  • Ship Operations Corps (Space Warfare, Navigators)
  • Command Corps
  • Administration Corps
  • Judge Advocate Corps
  • Inquisitor Corps

The Corps Chiefs serve as proponents of their career fields.

5. Responsibilities and Functions

a. The GCDRTREDCOM:

  • Manages TREDCOM and all elements within.
  • Provides management for IS activities tied to training, readiness, education, and doctrine.
  • Carries out additional duties assigned by the higher echelon.

b. TREDCOM's responsibilities:

  • Oversee training, education, recruiting, and doctrine across all IS organizations.
  • Establish and maintain training, education, and doctrine standards.
  • Develop comprehensive career programs for IS personnel.
  • Research and improve TREDCOM programs.
  • Liaise with other IS commands for effective integration of training, education, and doctrine.

c. Subordinate commands execute their missions while supporting TREDCOM's overarching mission.

6. Relationships

a. The GCDRTREDCOM:

  • Reports to the Supreme Commander.
  • Coordinates with IS Major Commands and Component Chiefs.
  • Uses existing facilities for efficiency.
  • Directly communicates with the Chancellor of Education and the Imperial University.

b. Major Command and Component heads collaborate with GCDRTREDCOM on training, education, and doctrine matters.

c. The GCDRTREDCOM retains operational control of Training and Education Commands of the Service Commands. Personnel matters are coordinated with the Service Commanders.

d. Service Commanders maintain administrative control over their personnel.

7. Authorities.  

The GCDRTREDCOM has the authority to:

  • Obtain necessary reports and information to fulfill TREDCOM's mission.
  • Directly establish TREDCOM facilities, utilizing established physical facilities and services when feasible, to ensure maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate, communicate, and collaborate directly with the Chancellor of Education and the Imperial University for programs and initiatives that intersect with TREDCOM's purview.
  • Issue directives, guidelines, and instructions necessary for the effective functioning of TREDCOM, in line with the directions provided by the Supreme Commander.

8. Administration.

a. The Vice Supreme Commander proposes to the Supreme Commander the nomination of the GCDRTREDCOM.

b. The GCDRTREDCOM submits to the Supreme Commander all requests for personnel and support. The Supreme Commander, in turn, will issue necessary orders and taskings to IS Service Commands.

9. Releasability.

Unlimited. This directive is approved for public release. It is accessible in forums and the archives.

10. Effective Date

This directive is effective from 8 October 2023.

11. Coordination

The point of contact for this directive is either the Vice Supreme Commander or the Grand Commander of IS TREDCOM. Any requests for changes or amendments should be submitted to either of these individuals. OFFICIAL:
