MEMORANDUM FOR ALL PERSONNEL

SUBJECT: Imperial Service Career Fields

References: Imperial Service Directives

1. Authority

Pursuant to the referenced directives, granting the CMTREDCOM, the authority to organize and manage the career fields of the Imperial Service this regulation is published.

2. Purpose

To establish and define the Imperial Service Career Fields for officers and enlisted personnel.

3. Scope

This regulation applies to all officers and enlisted personnel of the Imperial Service.

4. Definitions

a. Career Field: A broad occupational grouping of positions and duties that require a common set of skills, knowledge, and abilities. b. Officer: A commissioned officer of the Imperial Service. c. Enlisted: A non-commissioned officer or enlisted personnel of the Imperial Service.

5. Policy

The Imperial Service will organize its personnel into the following Career Fields (code designations are in parenthesis):

a. Administration Corps (10): This Career Field is responsible for the management of administrative and support functions within the Imperial Service.

b. Intelligence Corps (20): This Career Field is responsible for gathering and analyzing information and data to inform the decision-making of the Imperial Service.

c. Maneuver Corps (30): This Career Field is responsible for the ground-based operations of the Imperial Service. It is subdivided into the following specialties: 1) Infantry 2) Artillery 3) Battlemech 4) Armor

  1. All skills is 30A
  2. Infantry is 30B
  3. Artillery is 30C
  4. BattleMech is 30D
  5. Armor is 30E

d. Ship Operations Corps (31): This Career Field is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all medium to large ships and vessels used by the Imperial Service. It is subdivided into the following specialties: 1) Space Warfare 2) Navigation

  1. All skills is 31A
  2. Space Warfare is 31B
  3. Navigation is 31C

e. Aviation Corps (32): This Career Field is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all small aircraft and space-faring vehicles used by the Imperial Service. The Aviation Corps is subdivided into the following specialties: 1) Starfighter Pilots 2) Transport Operators 3) Orbital Fighter Pilots

  1. All skills is 32A
  2. Starfighter Pilots are 32B
  3. Transport Operators are 32C
  4. Orbital Fighter Pilot 32D

f. Command Corps (60): This Career Field is responsible for the leadership and management of Imperial Service personnel.

g. Communications Corps (34): This Career Field is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of all communication systems used by the Imperial Service.

h. Law and Order Corps (35): This Career Field is responsible for the enforcement of law and order within the Imperium and the Imperial Service.

i. Guard Corps (36): This Career Field is responsible for the security and protection of the Emperor, other high-ranking officials, and important locations and facilities.

j. Logistics Corps (40): This Career Field is responsible for the management of supplies, transportation, and other resources required by the Imperial Service.

k. Engineering Corps (41): This Career Field is responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of all equipment and infrastructure used by the Imperial Service.

l. Diplomatic Affairs Corps (50): This Career Field is responsible for the management of personnel that participate in diplomatic relations and negotiations with other powers.

m. Science Corps (70: This Career Field is responsible for research and development of new technologies and scientific advances.

n. Medical Corps (71): This Career Field is responsible for the health and welfare of the Imperium and Imperial Service personnel.

o. Judge Advocate Corps (80): This Career Field is responsible for providing legal advice and representation to the Imperial Service.

p. Inquisitor Corps (90): This Career Field is responsible for investigating and dealing with internal threats and security breaches; compliance with procedures; and inspecting organizations within the Imperial Service.

6. Implementation

a. Officers and enlisted personnel will be assigned to an ISCF based on their skills, knowledge, and abilities.

b. Each ISCF will have a defined career progression path with required training and assignments.

c. Officers and enlisted personnel will be required to complete Basic Training before being assigned to an ISCF.

d. Basic Training will include training in the following areas, at a minimum:

  1. Physical Fitness
  2. Marksmanship
  3. Tactical Training
  4. Leadership Development
  5. Military History and Customs

e. This regulation is effective immediately upon publication

f. All personnel in the Imperial Service are required to adhere to the guidelines set forth in this regulation unless otherwise stated by the Imperial Command Authority

g. Any changes or updates to the Career Fields of the Imperial Service must be approved by the Chief Marshal of TREDCOM.

h. The Assistant Chief Marshal for Education is responsible for overseeing the training and education programs for each Career Field.

i. All officers and enlisted personnel must meet the required training and assignment criteria for their respective Career Field.

j. This regulation supersedes all previous regulations on the organization and structure of the Imperial Service Career Fields.

k. Any violations of this regulation may result in disciplinary action, up to and including separation from the Imperial Service.

l. The Training and Doctrine Command is responsible for developing and updating the training curriculum for all Career Fields; through the Basic Military Training Command, is responsible for conducting basic training for all enlisted personnel; and through the Doctrine Command is responsible for developing and updating the doctrine of all Career Fields

n. The Recruiting and Accessions Command is responsible for evaluating and assigning personnel to their initial ISCF based on the needs of the Imperial Service.

o. Members of the Imperial Service may be members of up to three career fields with the a primary designation, secondary, and tertiary designations. Completion of required courses and assignments will result in the awarding of a field. codes will add the pay grade at the end to determine levels. For example an Army Major in battlemech would be 30DO4, while a sergeant would be 30DE5.

p. All personnel in the Imperial Service are encouraged to pursue continuing education and training opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge in their respective Career Field.

q. The Chief High Marshal of TREDCOM may grant waivers to the requirements of this regulation on a case-by-case basis.

r. This regulation will be reviewed and updated as necessary to ensure its effectiveness and relevance to the Imperial Service.

s. IS TREDCOM will work with the IS Major Commands to develop training, doctrine, and education.
