LAW-101 — Constitution and Imperial Covenant

Description

A structured introduction to the Constitution and Imperial Covenant of the Aksum Imperium, its relationship to Imperial Decree 26-001, constitutional continuity, the Tenth Imperium, the Imperial Crown, public authority, institutions, territories, Great Houses, and the preservation and interpretation of Imperial law.

Learning objectives

On successful completion, a student should be able to:

1. explain constitutional continuity through the Fracture and the Tenth Imperium;
2. identify the Constitution as the supreme governing law of the present constitutional order;
3. distinguish the Crown, delegated public authority, institutions, territories, Great Houses, and Imperial Service authority;
4. explain why conflicting prior authority is without current effect to the extent of conflict;
5. distinguish enacted law and official records from instructional or editorial summaries;
6. locate controlling constitutional provisions and cite them accurately.

1. Module 1 — Constitutional continuity and the Tenth Imperium
2. Module 2 — The Constitution as supreme governing law
3. Module 3 — Crown, authority, institutions, and Imperial inheritance
4. Module 4 — Application, interpretation, and legal-source discipline

Required readings

• Imperial Constitution and Covenant of the Aksum Imperium — controlling constitutional text.
• Imperial Decree 26-001 — Declaration of the Tenth Imperium and promulgation of the Constitution.
• Relevant official constitutional article pages in the Great Library.

Assessment and grading

• Four module knowledge checks — 20% total.
• Constitutional-source analysis assignment — 25%.
• Institutional-authority mapping exercise — 20%.
• Final examination — 35%.

A final course grade of 70% or higher is required for academic completion. The final examination must also receive at least 60%. These are course completion rules only and do not independently create an Imperial credential.

Completion requirements

Complete all four modules, submit both assignments, complete all knowledge checks, sit the final examination, and satisfy the grading thresholds above.
